On the Christian Right

6. NEW WORLD ORDER - I had a work friend who very much a believer. He went to a good evangelical Church, prayed things through in his life and was a good example to the world in his behaviour. His voting habits were dictated by belief and so they should be. However, wouldn't vote for any party that was pro-European Union because he reckoned that the antichrist would come from Europe and lead a one world goverment. He had complete certainty about this and cited several Bible verses that "proved" it. I went and had a look at these verses and I couldn't see how he could say those things with any certainty at all. In fact it was a extremely tenous interpretation. There is a lot of this sort of thing knocking around, over here but I believe more so in America. It does drive people away from supporting international bodies like the EU and the UN, organisations that DO have at there heart the goal of peace. Yes, it is a valid interpretation of the Bible that there will be one world goverment, and that an anti-Christian figure could come from it. But it would be then illogical the try and prevent something the Bibl says will happen! And whilst we resist it non-Christian elements can take push their agendas with the UN without Christians being there to stop them, and we don't use the peace forum to it's best effect,

  • Hey, I just saw your Euro-trip website. Pretty cool!

Are you any closer to getting in the Book of Records?

Would you consider riding through all 50 states?

  • Hmm... don't tempt me. I got into enough debt on the last ride!

It's something I'd love to do if I had the money. Maybe in a couple of years time.
